Bray Wyatt still wants to face John Cena in a match, even if WrestleMania 36 is postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt is set to face John Cena in a match at WrestleMania 36 on April 5 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, there’s a chance this year’s Showcase of Immortals could be postponed, despite WWE’s best efforts to try and make sure the show still goes ahead as planned.
WWE is still booking their Raw and SmackDown weekly shows as if WrestleMania 36 is still happening, even if they do have to take place at their Performance Center in Orlando.
Yet, the possible postponement of the show still looms large, but Wyatt still wants his match with Cena to take place even if WrestleMania is postponed, just in a different setting.
The former Universal Champion tweeted that if his match with the 16-time world champion at WrestleMania is postponed, he will face him instead in a Bar Fight Deathmatch at a Hooters restaurant.
He tweeted: "If WrestleMania gets delayed, The FIEND hereby challenges John Cena to a Bar Fight Deathmatch™. This will take place at Hooters. Not kidding."
Cena hasn’t directly responded to the alternative challenge to their WrestleMania match, but he did post a picture of Wyatt inside the Firefly Fun House on his Instagram account.
Wyatt and Cena came face-to-face on Friday's SmackDown. Cena said Wyatt was the most ‘over-hyped, over-valued and over-privileged’ WWE superstar ever.
Their match is still scheduled to take place at WrestleMania 36 despite the coronavirus pandemic, as Vince McMahon is yet to cancel or, more likely, postpone his biggest event of the year.
However, Tampa’s Hillsborough County has said if Vince doesn’t postpone WrestleMania soon, they may be forced to ‘pull the plug’ and do it for him for public safety reasons.
We’ll have to wait and see if The Fiend vs Cena takes place at WrestleMania on April 5, or if it will be taking place at a Hooters restaurant instead.
