Yesterday, the Mail on Sunday reported that a Preston farmer had exclusively told them that he had been offered £25,000 to provide false evidence by a member of Tyson Fury’s team back in 2015, a story that promoter Frank Warren was very quick to deny, stating that the boxer had not even met the farmer.

In 2015, after his win over Christian Hammer, Fury was found to have illegal levels of steroid nandrolone in his system, which he later stated had been due to him eating uncastrated wild boar.

If UKAD are to find Fury guilty of tampering with the first investigation, he could receive an eight-year suspension, according to The Sun, which in turn would be career-ending for the Gypsy King.

This comes as the UK anti-doping agency are set to launch an investigation after farmer Martin Carefoot claimed that he’d lied to investigators about supplying the meat after a member of Fury’s team offered him £25,000.

Warren seems to have confidence in his fighter, though, as he responded to these claims by saying: “We’ll leave this with UKAD to look into and don’t expect it to go any further.”

Warren joined Fury’s team in 2018 and is obviously outraged with such wild allegations which could cause Fury to lose his boxing career.

WBC boss Mauricio Sulaiman has also come out in support of Fury, stating that the WBC heavyweight champion has his full backing.

Whilst speaking to press, he stated: “The person who has claimed he accepted money to lie should be the one on trial, in my personal opinion, especially when he has waited five years to tell his story."

Fury defeated Hammer back in 2015 at the O2 before going on to beat Wladimir Klitschko to become the WBA, IBF and WBO champion later that year.

However, Tyson would later vacate these titles as he battled with mental health issues which nearly cost him his own life.

Now Fury has recovered from these dark times, he is back better than ever. Not only has he defeated previously undefeated Deontay Wilder for the WBC heavyweight title, he has also became a real advocate for mental health, using his story to inspire others that things do get better.

However, this latest news and uncertainty surrounding Fury could see his career plummet right back down once again.
