Bruno Fernandes has made quite an impression since arriving at Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in January.

The Portuguese playmaker has scored two goals and assisted a further three in his five Premier League appearances so far, earning him an instant glowing reputation with the United faithful.

Fernandes was today named the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month for his efforts, the first United player to earn the accolade during the 2019/20 season.

Understandably, many Red Devils supporters are excited at the prospect of Fernandes linking up with the club's record signing Paul Pogba. The Frenchman has spent the majority of the 2019/20 season on the treatment table.

But could United's midfield operate with two heavily forward-thinking midfielders? Fred - who would likely be tasked with anchoring the midfield - would almost certainly be completely overrun by opposing teams.

So with that in mind, we here at GIVEMESPORT decided to ask our fans which midfield star was more important to United; Fernandes or Pogba?

A whopping 81% of fans opted for the former, paying homage to the recency bias which often dominates modern football.

However, while some may have forgotten Pogba's undeniable brilliance as a footballer, a number of votes against the Frenchman could be due to the fact that he's regularly flirted with leaving Old Trafford.

But the Daily Mail report that Pogba has made a U-turn on his future plans and is intent on signing a new contract at United.

The club's recent upturn in form - which has coincided with Fernandes' signing - has prompted the World Cup-winning midfielder to alter his plans.

So forget picking between the pair, United fans may enjoy seeing both weave their magic in the same squad before long.

But the onus will be on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to shoehorn the pair into the same starting XI and maintain balance.
