Bruno Fernandes has been nothing short of outstanding since joining Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in January.

The Portuguese midfielder made his debut against Wolves just days after signing and went on to make five Premier League appearances in February.

United went unbeaten in that time and managed to win away against Chelsea and at home to Manchester City.

Fernandes was a big reason for their success last month. He scored twice and assisted three goals.

That was enough to win him the Player of the Month award in his debut month in the Premier League.

According to our calculations, Fernandes became the 11th player to win the Player of the Month award in their first month in England's top tier.

You can view the full list of players to achieve that feat below:

Jurgen Klinsmann - August 1994

Klinsmann arrived at Tottenham Hotspur with a lofty reputation and he immediately hit the ground running.

He scored five times in his first four games to win the Premier League's first ever Player of the Month award.

David Ginola - August 1995

Ginola arrived at Newcastle from Paris Saint-Germain for £2.5 million in 1995.

The Frenchman scored once as his side won all four of their games to start the season.

Patrik Berger - September 1996

Berger made his debut for Liverpool on September 7 against Southampton.

The Reds won all five of their games that month, with Berger scoring braces against Chelsea and Leicester City.

Robbie Keane - August 1999

Keane's goalscoring exploits for Wolves in the English second tier convinced Coventry to sign the teenager for £6 million.

He marked his first month in the Premier League with three goals and the Player of the Month award.

Louis Saha - August 2001

Saha scored twice on his debut for Fulham against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

He then scored again against Sunderland three days later on his way to winning the Player of the Month award.

Deco - August 2008

There was much excitement at Chelsea surrounding Deco's signing from Barcelona in the summer of 2008.

He scored a 30-yard screamer on his debut and then curled home an exquisite free-kick in his second game.

Diego Costa - August 2014

Costa, signed for £32 million in the summer of 2014, scored four times in three games during his debut month in the Premier League.

He was also booked twice in that month which is a shock to absolutely nobody.

Andre Ayew - August 2015

Ayew is perhaps the most surprising name on this list.

The Ghananian scored on his debut and then notched twice more in August to be named Player of the Month.

Five years later and Ayew is still playing for Swansea but now in the Championship.

Anthony Martial - September 2015

Martial signed for Man United in September 2015 in a deal worth £58 million - a record fee for a teenager.

He made his debut later that month against Liverpool and scored one of the most iconic debut goals in Premier League history.

He then scored a brace on his full debut en route to winning his first - and so far only - Premier League Player of the Month award.

Teemu Pukki - August 2019

Norwich scored goals for fun in the Championship and immediately made an impression in the Premier League.

He scored against Liverpool on his debut before notching a hat-trick against Newcastle United.

In all, the Finnish star notched five goals and an assist in four games in August.

Bruno Fernandes - February 2020

Fernandes has well and truly hit the ground running.

He will be a key figure for Manchester United as they look to return to the summit of English and European football.
