Ronaldo Nazario's time with Inter Milan is sadly more remembered for the horrific knee injuries the Brazilian legend suffered at the club rather than the sublime footballing skill he delivered when fit.

El Fenomeno missed the majority of the 1999/2000, 2000/01 and 2001/02 seasons due to his recurring injury problems, before moving to Real Madrid in 2002.

But during his first two seasons with Inter, Ronaldo was on a different planet. His first Serie A season yielded 25 goals and the league's Footballer of the Year award.

Halfway through his first campaign, he also scooped the World Player of the Year and the Ballon d'Or. To put it simply, Ronaldo was the finest player on the planet in 1998 by quite some distance.

The list of wonderful virtuoso performances by the great man is endless, but his finest of all-time may have came in 1998 against Lazio.

Inter were paired up against their Italian foes in the UEFA Cup final and they strolled to a 3-0 victory, with Ronaldo the star of the show.

Ivan Zamorano and Javier Zanetti grabbed the first goals, with Ronaldo scoring the third to cap off one of the greatest cup final displays you will ever see.

You can watch a short snippet of Ronaldo's highlights below and trust us, you'll want to watch them more than once!

That's just outrageous, isn't it?

When he drops deep to collect the ball, you just can't help but think of Lionel Messi in his pomp.

For his goal, the Brazilian has all the composure and grace of Cristiano Ronaldo, but the finish was pure, unadulterated Ronaldo Nazario.

Rounding the goalkeeper and tapping the ball home was his trademark. In fact, 88 of the goals throughout his illustrious career came courtesy of rounding the 'keeper, ridiculous.

They just don't make players like the original Ronaldo anymore. Some will say Kylian Mbappe is the great man's heir, but even he will never reach the natural brilliance of El Fenomeno.
