WWE is doing their bit to try and help combat the coronavirus pandemic, including taking the temperature of everyone who enters their Performance Center, according to Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler.
WWE made big changes to their upcoming schedule this week, as they have moved WrestleMania 36 from Tampa to the Performance Center in Orlando. The show will also be taking place without any fans in attendance.
WWE has also announced Raw, SmackDown, and NXT will be broadcasted from the Performance Center without an audience for the foreseeable future. All of this is being done in order to help combat against the coronavirus pandemic.
Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reported earlier this week that ‘in order to enter the tapings at the WWE Performance Center amidst the coronavirus pandemic, talent/crew/etc must pass a screening done by a team of physicians.’
This report has been confirmed by Raw commentator Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler, as he said during a recent interview with Commercial Appeal that everyone who enters the Performance Center has to have their temperature taken.
It was not clarified by Lawler if more testing is done besides a temperature check.
The same temperature tests will probably take place when the Performance Center hosts WrestleMania 36 on April 5.
So far, seven matches have been confirmed for the show, with an eighth match, a Last Man Standing match between Edge and Randy Orton, expected to be added by this time next week.
Superstars have been told that they don’t have to travel to the Performance Center for Raw, SmackDown, or NXT shows at this current moment of time if they feel uncomfortable, and they won’t receive any repercussions.
WWE has also told its employees to work from home if they are able to do so in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus too.
WWE is doing all they can to make sure the show goes on.
