Unfortunately, the Premier League is currently postponed and it is hoped it will return in a few weeks.

Clubs managed to play their matches throughout January and February but the spread of the coronavirus meant the league officially came to a halt last week.

But which players in the Premier League were impressing since the turn of the year?

WhoScored have used statistics to determine the best Premier League XI in 2020 so far.

Players had to have made a minimum of five appearances to be taken into account.

GK: Hugo Lloris - 7.27

This is fairly surprising given Lloris has conceded nine goals in five appearances in 2020.

He did, however, keep a clean sheet and saved a penalty against Manchester City in February.

The Frenchman has also made 20 saves this year so far, averaging four per-game.

LB: Cesar Azpilicueta - 7.34

Azpilicueta has scored twice, bagged an assist and helped Chelsea to two clean sheets in 2020.

CB: Virgil van Dijk - 7.48

Van Dijk is perhaps not hitting the same heights as last season but he's been impressive again this term.

The Dutchman has played 10 Premier League games this year, with Liverpool keeping six shut-outs in those games.

He also marked a 2-0 win over Man United in January with a goal and got his first assist of the season in Liverpool's most recent Premier League game against Bournemouth.

CB: Shkodran Mustafi - 7.50

Mustafi has been a bit of a laughing stock among Premier League fans since signing for Arsenal in 2016.

His time at the club looked over but he's come into the team and helped Gunners to an unbeaten start in the Premier League to 2020.

He's helped Arsenal to two clean sheets in his last five games.

RB: Ricardo Pereira - 7.38

Pereira has been statistically the best right-back in the Premier League this season and he's continued that form in 2020.

Unfortunately, he is unlikely to play another game this campaign after sustaining a serious injury earlier this month.

CDM: Jordan Henderson - 7.76

Henderson scored twice and assisted three goals in his seven Premier League games this year.

Liverpool's blip in form during Henderson's absence shows just how important he is to their success.

CM: Bruno Fernandes - 7.82

Fernandes only joined Manchester United in January but he's well and truly hit the ground running.

With two goals and three assists in five games, Fernandes has been statistically the best player in the Premier League since the turn of the year.

CM: Kevin De Bruyne - 7.67

Kevin De Bruyne has been the best player in the Premier League this whole season, despite Man City's struggles.

In 2020 he's played seven games, recording five assists and scoring once.

LW: Allan Saint-Maximin - 7.40

The Frenchman has only recorded two goal contributions this year but still sneaks into the best XI.

He scored the winner in Newcastle's last game against Southampton.

RW: Mohamed Salah - 7.67

Salah has been the Premier League's best attacker in 2020, scoring seven times and recording two assists in 10 Premier League games.

ST: Richarlison - 7.59

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been banging in the goals for Everton but it's Richarlison who has been statistically the best striker in 2020.

He's recorded five goal contributions this year so far.
