No-one thought he would ever return to the ring after his 2016 retirement, but in 2018 Daniel Bryan proved everyone wrong.

The leader of the YES Movement made a triumphant return at WrestleMania 34 and showed the world he was ready to take over again.

Since then, Bryan has shown how diverse he can be, switching up to become an environmentalist heel whilst also being WWE Champion, and then shaving his hair and beard off to become his 2010 self again.

Bryan is currently in a storyline with former Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak, where they initially faced each other but look likely to become a tag team in the near future - whenever the storyline concludes though, it could be Bryan's last for a while.

That is because in news he's revealed on The Bella Twins' podcast, Bryan is taking some time off once his second child with Brie Bella is born, but there's a huge chance that when his hiatus is done, he won't be back in a full-time capacity.

"WWE has been great, they're going to give me 6 weeks of maternity leave," Bryan said, per WrestlingInc.

"Which so few places in the United States do that. So, I'll get to be home that first 6 weeks, but after that it's not long until my contract is up."

"We've been talking about what we do from there, but to me, in my mind, it's almost... I think I'm just done being a full-time wrestler. You know what I mean?"

"I love being a dad. I will always love wrestling. I will always love wrestling, and I will always want to do wrestling.

"But when I say 'always want to do wrestling' that means maybe once a month, or once every couple of months."

That indicates that once Brie gives birth - which is supposedly around June of this year - we may see little of Bryan for the rest of 2020.

He may be back at some point, but if Bryan gets his own way, it won't be on a week-by-week basis, and considering he will have a young family to raise, it makes complete sense.

Bryan still has a wealth of competition that he hasn't gone face-to-face with yet on Raw, SmackDown and NXT though, so he's still got a hell of a lot left to give!
