John Cena may have broken into Hollywood and gained some big movie roles recently, but he will never forget his roots.

That's why when WrestleMania was supposed to come to the city of his residence - Tampa Bay - this year, he threw his hat into the proverbial ring to get back into action.

It has been over a year since Cena's last WWE match, but the fans were delighted to see him the night after Super ShowDown last month.

Whilst it won't be happening in Tampa anymore, Cena will still be at WrestleMania 36, and he will be facing an old nemesis in Bray Wyatt - who he defeated at WrestleMania XXX six years ago - but it's Wyatt's alter-ego 'The Fiend' who he will instead oppose.

Away from the wrestling ring, Cena is known for being a very charitable person, and he's the 'Make-A-Wish' record holder for granting the most wishes with 600 individual ones - and this week he's continued his good-willingness.

A post made on Reddit by the user 'PlatypusOverlord' stated that Cena paid for the groceries of Charles Phillips - who was in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War - in a Publix store in Florida.

Phillips even snapped a photo with Cena at the store, and his daughter spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the ordeal.

“My dad was behind him in the checkout line. They were chatting and John thanked my dad for his service [after] seeing his SeaBees hat,” Stefanie Phillips said.

“John secretly paid for all of his groceries. My dad didn’t even know until he was being checked out and the cashier said, ‘John paid for your groceries.’ The bill was around $100.”

“My dad is a retired Vietnam veteran [and] a widow. We lost my mom five years ago unexpectedly [after] they were married almost 50 years.

"So, as you can imagine, not too much these days make him smile as big as he did in that picture.

“That’s what so special about this moment. A simple act of kindness brightened his day. Along with his family seeing that smile on his face!”

According to Stefanie, Cena frequents the store and is always the 'kindest man to everyone', which tells you everything you need to know about his character.

What a man the 16-time world champion is, proving that he is the nicest man in professional wrestling!
