Conor McGregor was quick to congratulate Tyson Fury and branded him “a special fighter” after his knockout win against Deontay Wilder in their rematch on February 22.

This fight has helped reignite the spark that McGregor has for boxing even after his loss to Floyd Mayweather back in 2017. McGregor was also eager to point out what he and Fury had in common.

“Tyson Fury is special; He’s got Irish in his blood”.

He even sent both fighters a complimentary bottle of his whiskey, Proper no 12 and stating that: “They both deserved a proper shot or two after that bout”. His whiskey was the title brand for this bout.

The two are also expected to have a third bout as the first between them was ruled a draw. When this fight might happen is still unsure due to the ongoing coronavirus.

Even though McGregor was quick to praise Fury after his victory, he was also respectful of Wilder too, even after his defeat. “I deeply respect these fighters, what a show!”.

Comments like this only fuel the rumour that McGregor is ready to go back into the ring after his one-off fight against Mayweather three years ago.

He has hinted at a summer return to the octagon and has teased fans of his potential return.

“I will be in the octagon again soon and I fully expect to box again.

"You will need to stay tuned, but trust me, the fans will enjoy,” McGregor told Bleacher Report.

It’s unsure as to when and where McGregor will box but his fans will be eagerly awaiting that news and will be sure to back him whoever he fights against next.

It is unlike him to want to end on a defeat, he will no doubt be back for revenge when he does box again.
