Luka Jovic left Real Madrid's quarantine to go and 'party in the streets of Belgrade'

Luka Jovic has reportedly left Real Madrid's quarantine

Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic has been slammed by Serbia's Prime Minister for breaking his quarantine.

The Los Blancos forward was supposed to be in self-isolation in the Spanish capital amidst the coronavirus outbreak, but was instead allegedly spotted partying on the streets of Belgrade for his girlfriend's birthday.

Serbian players playing abroad had been asked not to return to their homeland for fear of spreading the Covid-19 infection within the country.

Not only has Jovic disobeyed that order, but he has broken a period of self-isolation that was administered to all Real Madrid players, with the whole of Spain now on lockdown.

Serbia's Prime Minister, Ana Brnabic, has hit out at Jovic over his reportedly negligent actions, stating that those who break the country's orders over not returning will eventually be prosecuted by the authorities.

“We have negative examples of our footballers, who are paid very well, ignoring mandatory self-isolation upon returning home,” Brnabic said of the player's actions, according as per AS.

“We have written criminal reports against some of these famous athletes [that have returned]. These people will respond when the court determines that the time has come for that.”

Jovic will also likely be punished by Real Madrid. The entire club has been quarantined ever since basketball player Trey Thompkins was confirmed to have contracted the new disease.

It's not exactly the kind of thing you want to do on the back of a disastrous debut season in the famous white shirt.

Jovic celebrates vs Osasuna

After arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer for a fee of around €60m, the 22-year-old has scored just two goals in 24 appearances in all competitions.

When normality is restored across the world after the coronavirus pandemic, you really do fear for Jovic's career in Madrid.

He's also not going to be the most popular athlete in his homeland either...
