Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been one of the greatest signings in Premier League history.

Ever since his arrival, the Gabonese striker has made the art of goal scoring look irritatingly easy.

In his 75 Premier League appearance, Aubameyang has scored 49 goals and assisted another 10, a simply sensational return.

But sadly for the former Borussia Dortmund man, his prowess in front of goal has not resulted in success for Arsenal. He's yet to play in the Champions League with the Gunners.

As such, with his contract running down and Arsenal looking like they will spend another season outside of Europe's elite competition, Aubameyang looks likely to depart the Emirates Stadium in the next transfer window.

Barcelona have long been linked with the 30-year-old, but one of Arsenal's biggest rivals have now entered the race to sign the coveted striker.

According to The Sun, Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are 'circling around' Aubameyang and are eyeing up a sensational £50m swoop.

United hit some form in the weeks prior to football being brought to a halt by the coronavirus pandemic and when the season resumes, they will be one of the favourites to qualify for the Champions League.

That could tempt Aubameyang to ditch Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta's side currently languishing in ninth.

The prospect of United lining up in the future with Aubameyang, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial in the same side is certainly mouthwatering.

Odion Ighalo may have impressed during his short stint with the Red Devils after arriving in January, but the Nigerian simply cannot compared to a player of Aubameyang's calibre.

Who knows, the Gabonese forward could be a Robin van Persie-type signing for United!
