Reports are speculating that Liverpool’s right back Glen Johnson could be returning to London for Tottenham in the summer.
Johnson has fallen out of favour with Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish, and the 26 year old, who was purchased from Portsmouth for a reported £17.5 million in 2009, is rumoured to be considering moving to the Spurs should they make an offer.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has had numerous dealings with Johnson throughout the years, from being involved with the player in his youth days at West Ham United to purchasing Johnson while he was at Portsmouth.
Johnson has been playing the unfamiliar position of left back at Liverpool, with Martin Kelly being preferred by Dalglish on the right side. Redknapp reportedly believes that by putting Johnson back in the right side, he will fill gaps Tottenham are showing in that position and get back to his best form.
While Liverpool will be wanting to recoup as much money as possible for the sale of Johnson, speculation is rife that Spurs can only offer £12 million.
