With football across Europe postponed for the foreseeable future, footballers are becoming more and more prolific on social media. They’re all in self-isolation as they attempt to stay free of the coronavirus so they remain healthy ahead of the resumption of football.Once they’ve undertaken their individual training programme in the morning, footballers probably get a bit bored at home.Players have spent their whole lives running out on pitches and doing what they love. When that’s taken away from them, they simply don’t know what to do with themselves. So, many of them have taken to social media and to entertain themselves. We’ve seen Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain dancing with his girlfriend, Perrie Edwards, while teammate James Milner has been busy counting his Yorkshire teabags and ensuring his grass was level.

A fun challenge with toilet roll has also gone viral.

The ‘toilet roll challenge' or the ’10 touch challenge' or 'stay at home challenge' involves attempting to do kick-ups with, you guessed it, loo roll. You then nominate others to do it.

Recently, Xavi nominated his former teammate, Lionel Messi.

Would the GOAT step up to the plate?

Of course, he would.

Messi uploaded a video of him doing a few kick-ups with some toilet roll in his bedroom - and he showed his class.

Messi made it look easy as he did 19 kick-ups before volleying the ball towards the camera.

So. Good.

Messi then nominated Arturo Vidal, Jordi Alba, Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner is in quarantine in his Castelldefels home as he awaits this COVID-19 outbreak to improve.
