62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards – Red Carpet

Conor McGregor. Notorious. Everyone has heard of him and everyone knows exactly who he is. However, not everyone knows some of the craziest stories about him... stories that are so crazy that it's hard to believe they are actually true.

Of course, when you're in the public eye as much as the Irishman, a lot of your stories get told worldwide and every step you take and every move you make is banded in every newspaper or on every website.

But despite this, there are still some hidden gems of stories that people aren't aware of, or did know but completely forgot about.

So we thought what better way to remind everyone of some crazy McGregor stories than listing some of them all in one article. We know, we know; you're welcome.

Now some are obvious and well known because, like we mentioned earlier, he's Conor McGregor. A lot of the stuff he does gets reported immediately and is everywhere for the world to see. Having said that, there are still some gems that you may not have been aware of, but they are completely true.

Would get into fights as a kid and then analyse every one

Yes, you did read that right.

When McGregor was a youngster, he would end up getting into fights with other boys, and not only that, he would then end up analysing each one.

According to Factinate, McGregor 'found himself analysing every move of the fight that just happened. If he lost, he was thinking about moves that would help him win the next time. He felt like it was necessary in order to keep himself safe.'

Jumped by elder boy and his mates for fancying his girlfriend

One of McGregor's very first fights came at the hands of an elderly boy, who didn't like the Irishman because he fancied his girlfriend.

The boyfriend got jealous and got his mates to jump McGregor, which in turn, led to him wanting to learn martial arts.

UFC Fight Night: McGregor v Holloway

If anything, McGregor may owe a lot to those boys and the girl he fancied.

Wakes up in the middle of the night with an urge to punch things

McGregor's trainer uses the word 'obsessed' to describe the Irishman, and when you find out that he often wakes up in the middle of the night thinking about fighting, you know why.

Apparently, Notorious thinks about fighting 24/7 and quite often wakes up from his sleep and has the urge to punch something.

Wouldn't want to be sharing a bed with him, that's for sure!

Tore his ACL vs Max Holloway, continued, and won

Back in 2013, McGregor fought Max Holloway at 'UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen', and as we all know, he won that fight via unanimous decision.

However, what some people don't know is the fact he won it with a torn ACL.

Despite the ridiculous pain he must have been in, he continued to fight and got the job done on points.

Absolute warrior.

Punched an old man in a bar for rejecting whiskey shot

A very well known story and one that probably every single sports fan already knows about.

During his absence from UFC, McGregor attracted a lot of negative headlines, none more so than when he punched an elderly man in an Irish pub for refusing a drink of his Proper Twelve whiskey.

CCTV caught the moment McGregor landed a clean shot on the gentlemen, who remarkably didn't even flinch. However, reports afterwards emerged saying he was scared to leave his house due to the attack.

Not one of McGregor's most proud moments.

Attacked Khabib's bus

Again. Another story that dominated global news when it went down, so another story that is well known.

However, it shows just how crazy McGregor can be, and just what a surreal life and story he has.

McGregor's story with Khabib Nurmagomedov is far from finished, so expect plenty more drama involving the two, but when the Irishman attacked the Russian's team bus, we knew everything was about to go mental.

Lo and behold, it did. And as the classic saying goes, the rest is history.

Smashed a fan's phone for wanting a selfie

Another moment that happened during his absence from UFC.

McGregor was once again captured on CCTV getting into an incident, and this time it was with a fan who was simply wanting a selfie.

McGregor snatched the phone of the male and threw it to the ground, breaking it very clearly in the process.

Has a tattoo but doesn't know what it means

Again, a crazy story, but a true story about McGregor.

The Irishman has a script tattoo on his leg, but he has absolutely no idea what it means as he got it when he was drunk on holiday.

Classic, Conor. Although, we all have that one mate who has a tattoo for absolutely no reason whatsoever, don't we?

Offered a role in a James Bond movie as a baddie

The name is McGregor, Conor McGregor.

No, he wasn't offered a role as James Bond, but he was offered a role as a baddie in one of the latest films.

In the movie 'Spectre', McGregor was offered a role, but he politely turned it down.

What a shame!

Confronted a referee during a mate's fight

It was November 2017, and McGregor had prematurely celebrated and jumped the gun when teammate Charlie Ward defeated John Redmond at Bellator 187 in Dublin.

Due to his premature celebrating, he ended up in a heated confrontation with the referee of the fight.

Although it was very clear Redmond was knocked out, the fight hadn't been officially called, so that is why the referee wasn't impressed with McGregor.

However, it's Conor McGregor, he does what he wants.

So there we have it. 10 absolutely crazy stories about McGregor that are genuinely true, and they just go to show what a surreal life he has had!

Yes, it's sometimes for the wrong reasons, but few can argue what a global name and cult figure he truly is.
