Tyson Fury has revealed that he prank calls a number of sporting icons, including Wayne Rooney and Anthony Joshua.

The popular boxer stopped the previously undefeated Deontay Wilder to claim the WBC heavyweight title last month.

A third bout between the duo is expected later this year but a new date has not been set as a result of the outbreak of coronavirus forcing numerous events to be postponed.

With sport sparsely taking place across the globe, Fury explained to BT Sport what he has been doing to keep him busy.

He said: "I call him [Joshua]. Sometimes I say: 'What's happening Mush?' We have a little back and forth. I tell him I'm going to know him out, he says: 'I'm going to know you out'.

"I said: 'After your last performance, you'll need a lot of improvement to knock me out, I'll tell you that'. We have a little laugh, it's a bit of banter, isn't it?

"If you think about it, you've got all these famous sportspeople in your phone, you have a couple of beers, what are you going to do? We're only human after all.

"It's just me having a bit of banter with the lads. I call Dillian Whyte, I call Rooney, Anthony Joshua - I call them all."

Eddie Hearn has claimed any further postponements may push an all-British undisputed bout between Joshua and Fury nearer.

Matchroom Boxing, whom Eddie Hearn represents and manages, have postponed events until the end of April.

Hearn said to Sky Sports: "May is going ahead, but we also understand that we have contingencies in place to move Dillian Whyte to the middle of June, to move Derek Chisora-Usyk back into the end of June, early July, and of course Anthony Joshua, who was due to go June 20, at Tottenham Hotspur football club.

"Really relies on the run of the Premier League now, because if the Premier League extend their season, Spurs will need their stadium.

"We already have a reserve date that we're discussing with Spurs of July 25 for Anthony Joshua against Kubrat Pulev at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium."
