Video of Robinho humiliating opponents on the football pitch has gone viral

Corinthians v Atletico MG - Brasileirao Series A 2017

On his day, Robinho was a superb player.

The Brazilian forward broke through at the age of 18 and tore up the Brazilian league with Santos.

He was quickly touted as the 'next Pele' during his stint with his boyhood cub.

Robinho would later join Real Madrid in 2005, where he established himself as one of the most exciting players in world football.

However, his career began to unravel when he joined Manchester City in a £32.5 million deal in 2008.

He failed to build on a promising first season at the club and he was shipped off just a year-and-a-half after joining.

Robinho went on to spend AC Milan for four years, before a return to Santos in 2014.

He has since gone on to play in China and now, at the age of 36, Robinho is still playing football in the Turkish first division for Istanbul Basaksehir.

Kaiser Chiefs v Manchester City

His best days are well and truly behind him but at his peak, Robinho was a joy to watch.

Combined with pace and incredible trickery, the Brazilian made a mockery of his opponents on the football pitch.

And a video has now gone viral which shows Robinho in his prime and humiliating his opponents.

The two-minute long video has gathered over 7k retweets and 20k 'likes' and shows just how good he used to be.

What a player. The disrespect he showed to opposition players on the pitch was incredible.

Robinho, if he applied himself, could have been one of the best to have played the sport.

But off the field problems and concerns over his attitude meant he never truly fulfilled his potential.

Still, he forged a good football career which saw him represent Real Madrid, Man City and AC Milan.

He also racked up 100 appearances for his country, scoring 28 goals.

But you can't help but just think how much better his career could have been...
