Philippe Coutinho has reportedly revealed to his closest friends that he regrets leaving Liverpool, claiming that his time at Anfield was the happiest he has been in his entire illustrious career.

It is easy to be jealous of where Liverpool are at the moment. Under Jurgen Klopp, the side has gone from strength to strength, winning the Champions League trophy whilst looking set to win their first Premier League title, sitting 25 points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the table.

Coutinho left the club in January 2018 to join European giants Barcelona in a bid to win league titles and that prestigious Champions League title. The crushing irony, though, is that the Brazilian was part of that Barcelona team that watched Trent Alexander-Arnold whip in a short corner kick to Divock Origi who scored the fourth goal of the game, sending the side through in the most unlikely of circumstances.

Liverpool went on to lift the cup for the sixth time in the club’s history that year. Coutinho was rewarded for his efforts with a loan move to Bayern Munich. Let’s get this straight, the German powerhouses are not a bad club to be loaned to by any means, but it just shows the lack of faith teams now have in the £142 million player.

Now, though, it has been reported that the attacker is keen on a move back to English football, with FOUR Premier League teams said to be interested in his signature… none of which are his former club Liverpool.

That ship seems to have sailed.

Instead – according to reports from the Mirror - Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Spurs have all enquired about signing the 27-year-old. This comes after it was reported that Bayern Munich weren’t interested in making his move to the Allianz a permanent one.

The four Premier League clubs seem to be of the same opinion: none want to employ the player on a permanent basis, all favouring a loan move.

For good reason too: for a player of such talent, he has scored just two goals and provided one assist in his last 12 games in all competitions for the Bundesliga side, proving that he might not be that same dynamic player we had the privilege of seeing with Liverpool.
