Barcelona reportedly transfer list Antoine Griezmann and will accept €100 million this summer

Griezmann could be transfer listed by Barca

Antoine Griezmann was caught in one of the longest-running transfer sagas of the last decade.

For years, the Frenchman was Atletico Madrid's stand-out player and he was constantly linked with a move to La Liga rivals Barcelona.

Over the summer of 2018, amid all the reports he was ready to move to Camp Nou, Griezmann produced a lavish documentary that confirmed he was staying loyal to Los Rojiblancos.

But fast forward 12 months and he had signed on the dotted line, officially joining Barcelona.

That didn't come without controversy either.

The Blaugrana triggered his £107 million release clause, but Atletico demanded another £70 million because negotiations began before Griezmann's buyout dropped in price.

At the end of the day, all that mattered is that Barca got their man. But he hasn't exactly had the impact they hoped for.

In his first season, the World Cup winner has 14 goals and four assists in 37 matches. His output isn't up to the club's extremely high standards, it seems.

Griezmann hasn't impressed at Barcelona

There have also been reports that he doesn't get along with Lionel Messi and their relationship on the pitch did seem strained at first.

Already, it appears Barcelona are done with Griezmann.

According to Spanish publication Sport, the La Liga champions are ready to put him back on the transfer market, 12 months after his controversial move.

The story suggests Barca want to improve their squad for next season, while simultaneously cutting costs.

Griezmann could be transfer listed this summer

They are happy to sell Griezmann for €100 million (€20m less than they paid) with clubs like Man United, PSG, Chelsea and Arsenal potentially interested.

Sport suggest Barca will even just be happy to get the Frenchman's salary off their books, as they now view his transfer last year as 'non-essential'.

However, if a sale doesn't go through this summer, Griezmann will still be accepted back into the squad and as it stands, Quique Setien would still have a role for him.

Griezmann does still have a future at Barca

But after everything Barca went through to sign the forward in the first place, it's incredible they're even considering to sell him - but that perhaps just proves how unnecessary his move was.
