Manchester United have been hugely successful since the Premier League was formed in 1992.

Sir Alex Ferguson led the club to 13 Premier League titles, as well as two Champions League's.

The Red Devils became the most successful club in England during his tenure.

But, despite their success under Ferguson, United have had some very poor players in the past 28 years; especially since his exit in 2013.

Manchester Evening News have named the very worst players they have had in that time period and put them into a 25-man squad.

Goalkeepers: Mark Bosnich, Massimo Taibi, Roy Carroll

Bosnich was Man United's first-choice goalkeeper for one season, taking over from Peter Schmeichel in the 1999/2000 season.

Taibi was signed for £4.5 million but was dismal in his four appearances and replaced by Bosnich.

Carroll is best remembered for Pedro Mendes' famous 'ghost goal' in 2005, where he got away with one of the biggest goalkeeper clangers of all-time.

Defenders: William Prunier, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Matteo Darmian, Tyler Blackett, Guillermo Varela, Alexander Buttner, Jonathan Spector.

Prunier had a disaster in just his second Man United game and wouldn't feature again.

Jones has, remarkably, survived nine years and counting at the club, while Rojo is still on the club's books.

Blackett, Varela, Buttner and Spector were all young players who simply didn't have what it takes to be successful at a club as big as United.

Midfielders: Angel Di Maria, Gabriel Obertan, Kleberson, Eric Djemba-Djemba, Luke Chadwick, Juan Sebastian Veron, David Bellion, Zoran Tosic, Wilfried Zaha.

Di Maria was a huge disappointment at United. He hit the ground running after signing for £59.7m in 2014 from Real Madrid. But he only scored four times before being shipped off just a year after joining.

Verón was also signed for big money but didn't live up to expectations.

Chadwick came through the youth at the club but, despite making 38 appearances, wasn't up to scratch.

Tosic was dubbed the next Cristiano Ronaldo but failed to fulfil his potential, while a young  Zaha also struggled.

The saying 'he was so good he was named twice' doesn't apply to Djemba-Djemba.

The less said about Obertan, Kleberson and Bellion the better.

Forwards: Radamel Falcao, Diego Forlan, Manucho, Dong Fangzhou, Bebe.

Falcao, once one of the world's best strikers, failed to acclimatise to English football when United signed him on loan in 2014/15.

He managed just four goals in 29 games that campaign. It's no surprise that United didn't make his loan spell permanent.

Forlan's best moment for the club was a real high: scoring twice against Liverpool at Anfield.

But 10 goals in 63 Premier League games was not a good return. At all.

Dong and Manucho were both youngsters who failed to break through at the club.

Bebe's signing, to this day, remains one of the most bizarre signings in United's history. Signed for £7 million, the Portuguese scored twice in seven games before moving to Benfica four years later.

This really is a poor team. There's absolutely no way this team would finish in the top half of the table.

In truth, they'd probably be fighting relegation if these 25 players played to the level they did at United.
