Ashley Young is one of a number of Premier League exports who's swapped England for Italy this season.

The former Manchester United left-back joined Inter Milan in January to join up with ex-Red Devils' teammates Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku - but like footballers across Europe, he's now not playing anywhere.

The coronavirus pandemic has seen fixtures suspended in order to reduce the risk to players, staff and fans.

Serie A was the first major league to be postponed in light of the crisis, with Italy currently the continent's worst affected region.

That has put Young in a good position to judge the different responses from the public in his new, adopted home and back in the UK.

Per the Washington Post, over 6,000 people have now died in Italy as a result of the virus.

The 34-year-old has therefore taken to Twitter to compile a thread on what he's learned about living through a lockdown, with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson having announced similar measures on Monday night.

Young has posted 12 tweets advising how to manage leaving the house for essentials during this period of self-isolation.

At a time when there's so much misinformation and such a lack of clarity, plenty of people are confused about how exactly their daily life should be affected by the crisis.

It's great to see Young stepping up and offering his advice, as best he can.
