Gunners keen on Bolton defender

Yahoo Sport is reporting that Bolton’s star defender Gary Cahill is planning a move to Arsenal in the summer, with Arsene Wenger keen to sign the 25 year old.

Cahill was sold to Bolton in 2008 from Aston Villa, after loan spells in Burnley and Sheffield, and signed a contract tying him to the Wanderers until 2012.

Bolton are reportedly looking to cash in on Cahill, and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger sees the defender as a good replacement for Thomas Vermaelen, who will not be fit until next season at least.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are also believed to have shown interest in Cahill, though with Arsenal’s lack of options in the central midfield position, Wenger is ready to snatch Cahill from the transfer market as quickly as possible.
