Tyson Fury will return to Las Vegas on October 3 for his trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder, according to reports.
That puts to bed expectations of a summer bout, with July 18 initially believed to have been pencilled in.
Now, per The Athletic, we have a date in the diary, though organisers insist the rematch hasn't moved due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Boxing is currently on hold due to the pandemic, Daniele Scardina and Andrew Francillette's IBF title clash among the most high-profile encounters already postponed.
However, Wilder and Fury's respective camps simply prefer an autumn date.
Wilder activated his rematch clause almost immediately - just six days after he was knocked out by the Gypsy King.
So the Bronze Bomber will get his chance to enact revenge, albeit his opportunity will be slightly delayed.
Yet he will not be getting an equal pay cut this time around after the pair split the purse evenly for their fight last month.
Wilder will earn 40% and 60% this time.
Over 800,000 pay-per-view buys were sold for the second fight, more than double their first bout.
Fury can take plenty of the credit for that. His spirit of defiance, rising from the canvas, and what's more, his phenomenal performance in the rematch suggest promoters are more than capable of selling similar numbers again.
For Wilder, meanwhile, his recovery period has at least given him a chance to cool off after his initial plans to fire trainer Mark Breland for throwing in the towel. The real question, which the American must surely acknowledge, is why it wasn't done sooner.
If Fury can repeat his victory, that ought to finally set up a unifying encounter with Anthony Joshua early next year.
It all seems a long way off right now but rest assured, the bell will sound again and boxing fans finally have a more concrete date to which they can look forward.
