One of the best and most decorated athletes of all time Mike Tyson, once discussed what his life was like when he was at the peak of his career.

A remarkable video of his daily regime was posted on Twitter, and what it took for him to be the champion is truly unbelievable.

Widely regarded as one of the best boxers of all time, and without a shadow of a doubt one of the hardest hitting heavyweights of all time, Tyson obviously had to work harder than the rest of the competition.

A boxer doesn’t become the best in the world without putting in the countless hours in and out of the ring, and Tyson was no exception.

Tyson’s basic morning routine went something like this: 4am - Wake up, 4:30am - Go for a run, sometime around 6am - get back and go to sleep, around 10:45am - wake up again and have breakfast.

What’s remarkable about Iron Mike’s morning routine is he doesn’t set alarms, his body tells him when it’s time to get up. It never fails to let him down, always being almost to the minute, give or take a few.

After waking up for the second time that day, all time went out the window and Tyson made his way to the boxing club to start the day’s training.

In no particular order, Iron Mike sparred, went on the speed bag, jumped the rope and hit the heavy bag, and with his pure power it does make you wonder how many heavy bags Tyson must have broken.

Mike would complete this routine Monday to Saturday without fail.

Tyson would spar around 200 rounds a week and train an estimated 55 hours a week, and if that isn’t the routine of a champion, then someone tell me what is.

Not only did Tyson train like a champion, he also had the mindset of one.

When asked why he got up so early, Iron Mike replied: ''The reason I get up so early is I believe the other guy isn't doing it and it gives me a little edge.”

Iron Mike Tyson finished his career with a record of 50 wins (44 KO) and six losses (5 KO), therefore, leaving you with the question of is it any wonder as to why he ultimately dominated the heavyweight division, with his will to work and get better every day?
