With the sporting world now fully grinding to a halt, trying to get your sports and fitness fix might well seem like a challenge.

Do not despair, we love a challenge. There is still lots of sports entertainment out there secret is knowing where to look. To save you time and energy we have put together a comprehensive, top ten list of the women's sports podcasts we are enjoying right now.

1. The TIRED Women in Sport Podcast

Yes, it's a bit of self-promotion but sometimes you do just have to back yourself. Every week the podcast team at GiveMeSport Women convene to discuss the big trending topics in the world of the sport both on and off the field of play. For hot tea, a friendly vibe and special guests look no further for your weekly sports catch-up, and best of all, it will continue through the pandemic.

2. The Offside Rule: WSL Edition

Presented by Lynsey Hooper and Kait Borsay, the Offside Rule: WSL Edition podcast is devoted to taking you through the ins-and-outs of Barclay's FA Women's Super League each week. The discussion also expands onto other footballing topics and events including more recently the SheBelieves Cup and is committed to carrying on through the league's postponement.

3. The Netball Show

Recently shortlisted for an SJA Britsh Sports Journalism Award in the Audio/Radio category, this podcast is home to all things netball. The show pivots around the Vitality Netball Superleague but also broadens out to feature netball news from across the world. Highlights include interviews with big netball stars such as Australians Laura Geitz and Gretel Tippett.

Basketball fan? The podcast from across the pond has you covered. Introduced by ESPN in 2016, the podcast is fronted by ESPN basketball analyst LaChina Robinson and is produced by Terrika Foster-Brasby. The podcast is rich with guests helping Robinson cover all the hottest news from the world of basketball.

For news, views and opinions on women's rugby union look no further than the Women's Rugby Pod. Recently covering the now postponed Six Nations in great detail this growing show is now on its 28th episode and like all our recommendations, leads the way in interviews.

6. WTA Insider Podcast

WTA's official podcast is fantastic if you're in the business of hearing from your favourite female tennis stars. Although not dropping episodes as frequently as other podcasts this show makes up for it with its in-depth interviews; truly offering that 'Insider' perspective.

7. Burn It All Down

If you like your sports with a real feminist dimension then we cannot recommend Burn It All Down enough. The show breaks down the big sporting moments and gets deep into the nitty-gritty. Fronted by a diverse, all-female line-up this podcast comes with glowing reviews and is one not to be missed.

8. Give Me Strength

For our last three podcast recommendations, we thought we would also look at the themes of physical and mental well-being given how important these two are and how pertinent they will be over the coming weeks.

The Give Me Strength podcast is the project of Alice Liveing, personal trainer and best-selling author and is about the importance of building up mental and physical resilience. Watch out for the episode featuring double Olympic boxing champion, Nicola Adams.

If your one trip out of the house for exercise is to run then we suggest Another Mother Runner. Hosted by Sarah Bowen Shea, a mother and a marathon veteran, the podcast seeks out interviews with experts who focus on female runners. Conversation topics include nutrition, training, injury - you name it.

10. Tough Girl Podcast

If you're looking for that extra bit of motivation or inspiration in these challenging times then this is the podcast for you. Sarah Williams hears from women all around the world who have achieved extraordinary feats. From paddling the length of Australia's longest river (2,500km) to mountain biking the Great Himalaya Trail in Nepal, these conversations are sure to leave you in awe.
