Shayna Baszler will challenge Becky Lynch for the RAW Women's Championship at WrestleMania 36.

The match marks her incredible rise through WWE, given The Queen of Spades was only called up to the main roster in February.

After a dominant performance at the Elimination Chamber PPV, where she beat five other women inside the structure - eliminating all of them - Baszler earned her shot at the title.

She won't be the first former MMA star to fight at WrestleMania, following in the footsteps of Ronda Rousey.

Ahead of her championship match, Baszler has been reflecting on how Rousey - and even Rousey's mother - have influenced her career.

"If it was up to Ronda’s mother, she would take full credit for the way my life and career has gone!" Baszler told WWE

"There was a time where I was living with Ronda in a house in Venice and I happened to have wrestling on the TV. I was enthraled by it.

"Ronda’s mum came to the living room and she goes 'you are not watching this, you are studying this'... and she said 'keep that in mind' and then walked away.

"She could say that's the moment that pushed me into this direction."

As well as giving Rousey's mother credit for helping her onto the path of wrestling, Baszler also spoke highly of Ronda as well, for giving her the tools to pursue the career she wanted.

"Ronda set the four of us up in a way that we could concentrate on being exactly what we are... You don’t make a lot of money in MMA, especially at first," The Queen of Spades continued.

"She set us up so that we could just concentrate on showing up at the gym, we were free to concentrate on being whatever it is we wanted to be and that is what really set the tone for where I am at today."

Rousey and her mother may have helped Baszler early in her career but since then, it's fair to say the former MMA star has certainly grabbed any opportunity she's had with both hands.

Don't be surprised to see her lifting the RAW Women's Championship at WrestleMania too - and if she does, we expect Ronda's mother will be watching with a smile.
