UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is in trouble with the law yet again.

As first revealed by TMZ, the 32-year-old - who has never been KO'd or submitted inside the Octagon - was arrested earlier this morning in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The report states that police officers attended reports of gunfire at around 1am, and found Jones inside a parked car.

Jones denied any wrongdoing, however a sobriety test proved that he was impaired, and a further two breath tests came back positive - but that wasn't it.

During a search of the Jeep that Jones was sat in, the police stated that they found a black handgun and a half-empty bottle of tequila behind the passenger seat.

Jones was subsequently arrested for 'aggravated driving while intoxicated, negligent use of a deadly weapon and possession of an open container', which means that the police believe he fired the handgun found in his car.

TMZ have been informed that Jones has a court date set for April 9, and this is just the latest in a string of misdemeanours for the MMA star.

Jones has been arrested for driving under the influence before, and has also been suspended from the UFC in the past for apparent drug use, not to mention a hit-and-run incident in 2015.

This further news could see him punished by not only the court of law, but the UFC as well.

Many will be hoping that Dana White takes the strongest form of action on him after he's given him chance after chance, but Jones makes UFC money so he will likely remain a champion.

'Bones' has admitted substance abuse in the past, which include marijuana and alcohol, and considering he was found impaired and with tequila in his car, it's a sign that he's still struggling.
