Video of Mike Tyson's 'intimidating aura' shows why he was the most feared boxer

Mike Tyson destroyed Michael Spinks in 1988

Mike Tyson was one of those fighters that often had his opponents beaten before they actually stepped in the ring.

Despite standing at just 5'10", which is rather small for a heavyweight, Iron Mike was the most feared fighter on the planet for a prolonged period of time.

In fact, there probably has never been a boxer with such a brutal reputation. Deontay Wilder may have that lethal right-hand, but his fear factor pales in comparison to Tyson.

Iron Mike didn't need fancy ring-walks or WWE-style trash-talk to scare the pants off of pretty much everyone, he simply had his own personality.

A YouTube video by SmB Boxing perfectly highlights Tyson's 'intimidating aura', something which was a key factor in helping him be so dominant throughout his boxing career.

The footage focuses on the legendary boxer's meeting with fellow Hall of Famer Michael Spinks in 1988 for the undisputed heavyweight title.

Tyson's gameplan of intimidation begins in the build-up, continues in the dressing room before the fighters have even locked eyes in front of the crowd and finishes with the ring-walk.

A fascinating insight into a one-of-a-kind fighter. The story of legendary trainer Emmanuel Steward comparing Spinks to a 'deer in the headlights' moments before he fought Tyson says it all.

The fact a 21-year-old Tyson was punching holes in the wall in the dressing room next to him probably didn't help...

Steward goes on to say that they struggled to even get Spinks - an undefeated, elite fighter at the time - out of his dressing room, he was that terrified of Iron Mike.

Tyson went on to knockout Spinks within 90 seconds of the first round, cementing his status as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.

Tyson vs Spinks

We will never see anyone quite like him again!
