If you thought WrestleMania was going to be interesting behind closed doors, then the news that broke earlier today made it even more intriguing.

Roman Reigns was due to take on Universal Champion Goldberg at WWE's showpiece event, his first world title shot since his return from leukaemia in early 2019.

But due to concerns surrounding the current coronavirus pandemic, Reigns has decided to pull out of WrestleMania, even though there is only limited personnel allowed at the event.

Because of his past illnesses, Reigns would have been very susceptible to the virus, hence his decision to not compete - and it looks like he won't be the only one not taking up their advertised match.

It has now been revealed that a current title holder within WWE, who was scheduled to defend his belt at Mania, has been suffering from illness, and as of now their match hasn't been taped for the event.

That man is The Miz, one half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, who turned up to the Performance Center with an illness.

Miz and John Morrison were set to defend their straps against either The Usos or The New Day, but as of right now, none of the teams have been involved in filming for Mania.

And as per Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, via Fightful, Miz's illness played a huge part in Reigns' decision to not go ahead and wrestle Goldberg.

It may also have repercussions for other superstars on the roster too, as the reliable WrestleVotes have hinted that 'multiple advertised superstars' will not be competing.

You would have to assume that Daniel Bryan would be a big doubt for the event, as his wife Brie Bella discussed her concerns this week due to the star having an autoimmune disease.

That would make him very at risk to the virus, and considering it's been hinted that he's going to face Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship, that may be shelved.

Everything is touch and go for now, but be prepared for other matches to be changed on the fly in the next week or so.
