After Goldberg dethroned Bray Wyatt at Super ShowDown, WWE fans around the world were incensed at what Vince McMahon had done to The Fiend character. But they all knew what was about to happen - Roman Reigns was about to step back into the world championship picture. In the minds of WWE, having The Big Dog defeat Goldberg at WrestleMania for the Universal Championship would see him get a better reaction from fans than if he defeated Wyatt. However, things took a very unexpected turn late last night, when it was revealed that Reigns had actually pulled out of his scheduled match, due to fears of him being immunocompromised amidst the current coronavirus pandemic. That has left WWE in a bit of a pickle regarding Goldberg's title defence, and they've had to make a decision pretty quick considering all matches are being taped in advance this week in multiple locations. And that man they've decided to go with is Braun Strowman.Strowman only lost his Intercontinental Championship a couple of weeks ago, but his presence is still a realistic threat to anyone on the roster, given his size and strength.According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer - per WrestlingInc - Strowman has got the nod to challenge for SmackDown's world title.Furthermore, Meltzer has reported that the match has already been taped by WWE, and tonight's episode SmackDown is expected to have an angle that leads to Strowman replacing Reigns.WWE haven't confirmed anything at all regarding Reigns' status going into WrestleMania, but it's very likely that they are waiting until tonight on FOX to actually talk about it.Goldberg and Strowman have actually come face-to-face before - in-fact the Monster Among Men received a double Spear from the Hall of Famer and Reigns in 2017.

This time though, Braun will get to go one-on-one with the WCW icon - and he may just have won his first ever world title by the time April 5 is over and done with!
