Barcelona players have reportedly rejected a proposal to have their wages slashed amid the coronavirus epidemic.

ESPN claim that the players are understood to be willing to take a hit on their salaries, but they are not happy with the terms that have been suggested by the board so far.

Negotiations are ongoing and it looks likely that an agreement will be made in the end.

But how much are Barca's players in line to lose?

The Daily Mail have stated that Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu, could cut salaries by as much as 70%.

We've listed below what Barca's first-team players earn now, what they will earn if their wages are slashed by 70% and how much they would lose.

Barca players would be giving up huge amounts of money if they are force to take a 70% pay cut.

Messi is on the highest wage at Barcelona, earning £500,000-per-week.

He would lose £350,000-per-week if these measures were put in place.

Griezmann would be giving up £205,800-per-week, while Suarez would lose out on £203,000-per-week.

Of course, Barca's players would still be on big wages regardless of whether they take a cut or not. But it's easy to see why they are reluctant to give up on so much money.
