Bray Wyatt challenged John Cena to a Firefly Fun House match at WrestleMania 36 on this week’s Friday Night SmackDown.John Cena had already been scheduled to face ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt at this year’s WrestleMania after a confrontation between the two, last month on SmackDown.Their match at this year’s Showcase of Immortals will be a rematch of their clash from WrestleMania 30 six years ago, a match which was won by Cena. However, WrestleMania has since been moved to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, so original plans for Cena vs Wyatt have now changed as well since the match will no longer be taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. It had been rumoured that Cena vs The Fiend would be taking place on a closed-set location, away from the Performance Center, over the past week or so, and that direction was confirmed this week following the match announcement by Wyatt himself on SmackDown. On WWE’s blue brand show on Friday night, the former Universal Champion made the Firefly Fun House match challenge during a Firefly Fun House segment on the show, where he also talked about the recipe for defeating the 16-time world champion.Wyatt then explained that a big star like Cena deserves more than just a regular match at the Showcase of Immortals, so he was officially challenging him to a Firefly Fun House match.Wyatt did not reveal the rules for the match, but it was announced that Cena is set to answer the challenge on next week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

WrestleMania 36 was filmed at both the WWE Performance Center and on closed-set locations over the past week.

Before this week’s SmackDown, the only other off-site match that’s been confirmed for this year’s Showcase of Immortals is the Boneyard match between The Undertaker and AJ Styles.

Further off-site matches could be added to WrestleMania over the next week, but we’ll likely have to wait until Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown to find out.
