Floyd Mayweather has a history of flaunting his wealth, hence his boxing nickname being ‘Money’ which goes along with his brand ‘The Money Team.’

However, Floyd flashing his cash yesterday whilst on an Instagram Live session with football free agent Antonio Brown, isn’t just poorly timed but is also just outright ignorant.

“With this huge s*** that’s going on, all this crazy stuff that’s going on…. My investments are still paying off,” Floyd says before lifting up a sizeable pile of cash, which he later says is around $60,000.

This may not have been taken well by Floyd’s American audience, as he seemingly ignores the fact that America now has the most confirmed cases of coronavirus in the world.

In fact, it has now been confirmed that America has become the first country to exceed 100,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The clip from the Instagram live session was recorded and uploaded to Twitter by user @MichaelBensonn and the replies to it reflect this, as users mock Floyd.

One user responded:

“What a shame that one of the greatest fighters of all time is and always has been a massive bell***. Thousands dying yet he’s talking about investments.”

Another user simply replied, “Floyd 0 – 1 Pandemic.”

This is a reference to Floyd trying to say pandemic, couldn’t, so tried to say epidemic and couldn’t do that either so nearly went on to say academic before settling with ‘huge s***.’

My favourite response though, I feel represents the general take on the pandemic by people all over the world.

The user responds by saying, “I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart if I was as loaded as him I would help the vulnerable out in these tough times.”

This highlights how, even through these tough times, people are showing their support for one another, as mostly everyone is doing their bit to get passed this pandemic.
