Eddie Hearn sent boxing and gaming fans wild with excitement yesterday, as the Matchroom chief spoke about the chances of a new ‘Fight Night’ game.Hearn was speaking whilst on Instagram Live and hinted that a new instalment could be in the works.Hearn has been very vocal about how he wants to bring the game franchise back, as publishers EA haven’t released a Fight Night game since 2011 which was ‘Fight Night Champion.’Since the last release of the popular boxing game, EA have shifted their attention to the UFC and have produced three titles under the MMA giants name since the last Fight Night."Fight Night Champion news? I've got a few things in the fire on Fight Night Champion," said Hearn, immediately provoking a response from fans, with some even saying Hearn should receive hero status if he is able to help revive the series.EA have dropped plenty of hints themselves too, after an announcement back in December that the servers for Fight Night Round 4 would be closing and did so earlier this month. Also as part of the eleventh content update to EA’s latest fighting game, UFC 3, saw the return of Fight Night Champion campaign mode’s protagonist and antagonist, Andre Bishop and Isaac Frost.Whether or not the series will be making a comeback is a question Hearn now finds himself at the brunt of in most fan Q&A’s.

Back in January, a Twitter user asked Hearn during a Twitter Q&A about the possibility of a new instalment in the Fight Night franchise, to which Hearn responded: "I've been trying on this for a while, hopefully, this year it can happen, it would be huge."

With currently no instalment on the current generation of consoles, last month boxing legend Lennox Lewis suggested that we would see a new Fight Night game released with the next generation of consoles.
