Thierry Henry is one of those players we'll be blessed to tell future generations about.

The former striker is immortalised in a statue outside Arsenal's Emirates and with good reason.

Henry remains the Gunners' greatest goalscorer of all time with 228 in 377 games.

Moving to Barcelona in 2007, he left Camp Nou just one goal shy of another half century, but he had at least filled his trophy cabinet to the rafters during his time in Catalonia.

So on paper, future generations may remember him as a World Cup winner, a man who won five domestic titles in France, England and Spain and finally a Champions League in 2009.

Yet that record still doesn't entirely do justice to Henry's brilliance.

There are other legendary players who can boast a similar CV, but how many played the game with such brilliant panache?

Very few. We can hear the names of some of his Barcelona teammates being screamed at us, not least Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi, but we're here to talk about Henry.

With no live action on which to feast our eyes, GIVEMESPORT have been rummaging through the vaults and unearthed a collection of Henry's sauciest skills and goals.

The video, entitled '12 times Thierry Henry shocked the world' has been compiled by Sports HD on YouTube and has been viewed over six million times.

Most Arsenal fans no doubt have some of those highlights permanently etched into their memories.   His iconic flick and volley against Manchester United was one of the greatest ever Premier League goals.

And how about his magnificent solo goal in the north London derby against arch-rivals Tottenham, when he picked the ball up in his own half and ran almost the length of the pitch before pinging it into the bottom corner past Kasey Keller?

There are enough moments of mind-boggling magnificence in there, we hope, to shock even the most ardent of Henry fans who thought they'd seen it all.
