What’s the first thing that enters your mind when you think back to Luis Suarez’s spell at Liverpool?

Sadly, many Premier League fans will remember the controversial moments before they remember his genius.

Suarez served several bans for some serious misdemeanours and this has left his legacy tarnished. But, despite that, it’s important that we also remember just how brilliant he was during his three-and-a-half years at Anfield.

Suarez scored 82 goals in 133 games for the Reds. In 110 Premier League appearances, he bagged 69 goals.

The Uruguayan produced his best form in his fourth and final season at Liverpool, scoring 31 goals in 33 league games.

He sealed various individual accolades in the process, including the PFA Player of the Year, Premier League Player of the Season and Premier League Golden Boot awards.

He was also named Liverpool’s Players’ Player of the Season and won the club’s Goal of the Season award.

Take away the controversial incidents and this may have been the best individual season that we’ve ever seen from a player during the Premier League era.

Don’t believe us? Check out this two-minute video which shows Suarez at his magnificent best that season. He was on a totally different level to everyone else in the Premier League that term.

As well as 31 goals, Suarez also provided an additional 17 assists in the Premier League that season.

This means he was directly involved in 48 goals (just under half of the Reds’ 101 league goals) in just 33 games. Incredible.

Let’s check out some of the best reaction to the video…

After wrapping up the PFA Player of the Year award, Suarez’s manager at the time, Brendan Rodgers, said: "He is a really intelligent man who fits the values of this club, which is all about humility, class and he has all of that.

"He is a sheer winner and that probably overspilled last year but his development over the last year has been remarkable both on and off the field and Liverpool have benefited from that.

“For me he is the consistently outstanding player over the course of the last year."

Unfortunately for Rodgers and Liverpool, though, Suarez would end up sealing a dream move to Barcelona months later.

Despite being slapped with a four-month ban for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 World Cup, Suarez was signed by Barça and the rest is history.
