Triple H has pretty much confirmed that Roman Reigns has pulled out of WrestleMania 36 at the WWE Performance Center due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Last Thursday, it was reported that Roman Reigns had pulled out of his match against Goldberg for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36 at the Performance Center due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and with him being immunocompromised following his past battle with leukaemia.
However, this is yet to be officially reported by the WWE, as they are still advertising the Spear vs Spear match for this year’s Showcase of Immortals on their website.
During a recent interview with ESPN, Triple H pretty much confirmed that The Big Dog did not compete during the WrestleMania tapings last week due to the current pandemic.
The Game said, via Sportskeeda: "You know, there are various talents, and I don't wanna get into the specifics of WrestleMania because that's a must-see event, but we don't like to take precautions with our talent, any more so than we need to, and all of our talents are in this in a voluntary capacity.
“If they don't want to be a part of this, they feel there's a risk, for whatever reasons, be it themselves or somebody around them, they don't have to be here. Nothing is held against them for that. Same with our crew and everybody else.
“We don't want to take chances on that, and with Roman having a pre-existing condition, that would make him more susceptible to something, it's understandable."
According to reports, Reigns removed himself from the WrestleMania tapings after discovering The Miz had fallen ill. Whether or not Miz’ illness is due to the coronavirus, however, has not yet been confirmed.
Nevertheless, The Big Dog has decided not to take any more chances and has removed himself from this year’s Showcase of Immortals card as a result, leaving a spot open for another superstar to face Goldberg for the Universal Championship.
It has since been reported that Braun Strowman could be the superstar that steps up and replaces Reigns against Goldberg for the Universal title at WrestleMania 36, and the change could be made official this week on SmackDown.
