Cristiano Ronaldo was an absolute beast at Real Madrid.

Yes, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was incredible at Manchester United and has been equally superb at Juventus, but nothing will ever compare to his nine years at the Bernabeu.

The mere statistic that he scored 450 goals in just 438 appearances is mind-bending enough and things get even more spectacular when you really dissect his best seasons at the club.

Although Ronaldo was essentially world-class during every match he played at Real, it wasn't until his second season in Spanish football that we saw him reaching truly astronomical levels.

Thirty-three goals during his maiden campaign is a little modest by Ronaldo's bonkers standards, so it only seemed natural that he finished the 2010/11 term with a mammoth 53 strikes.

Real Madrid 8-1 Almeria

And with an eye-watering 40 strikes coming in La Liga, he made history as the highest ever scorer in a single season in Spain's top flight, surpassing Telmo Zarra and Hugo Sanchez's former record.

However, Ronaldo saved one of his best performances that season for last, putting on an absolute masterclass as Jose Mourinho's Real slaughtered Almeria 8-1 on the final weekend.

You might be surprised to hear that Ronaldo 'only' scored two goals during the bloodbath with Emmanuel Adebayor (x3), Karim Benzema (x2) and Joselu bagging the other strikes.

Ronaldo clocks four assists and two goals

But it wasn't goal-scoring that made Ronaldo's performance spectacular, it was the fact he recorded a career high FOUR assists during a single game to rubbish claims he's a selfish player.

Per Transfermarkt, Ronaldo's display from May 2011 is joint top for the most goal contributions he's provided in one match. The other saw him score five and set up one against Espanyol in 2015.

However, the Almeria game is all the more special for raising two fingers to suggestions that Ronaldo doesn't have a playmaker inside him, even if two of the assists were rather fortuitous.

You can check out Ronaldo's individual highlights and all the goals from the game down below:

Fair to say Ronaldo was somewhat pumped for this game...

The then 26-year-old kicked off proceedings by scoring the opener, sliding in at the back-post, before Real converted one of only two goals that wouldn't include their Portuguese superstar.

And after Almeria popped up with a consolation goal, Ronaldo collected his first couple of assists.

These two were, admittedly, a little on the lucky side with Benzema doing most of the work for the first and the second transpiring as a rebound that fell at Adebayor's feet in the six-yard box.

Six goal contributions

However, the real quality came with Ronaldo's third assist when, moments after a stunning scorpion flick from Sergio Ramos' pass, he perfectly weighted a slide-rule pass for Benzema to convert.

The Portuguese then smashed home a fine right-footed strike of his own and then finished off the masterclass by firing in a powerful cross that Joselu headed home to make it 8-1.

So, before you say that Lionel Messi shames Ronaldo in terms of provided goals, just remember that his record for most goal contributions in a game (5) is fewer than the Real legend's. Ouch.
