LEGO are releasing a model of Vin Diesel's Charger from the Fast and Furious franchise

Looking for some entertainment to spice up those long days in lock-down?

Happen to be a fan of the Fast and Furious franchise or a car buff? LEGO might have just announced the thing for you.

While the ninth instalment of Fast & Furious has been delayed until April 2021, LEGO is full steam ahead and have announced the release of a 1,077-piece replica of Dominic Toretto's black 1970 Dodge Charger R/T.

The LEGO Technic model comes in at 39cm long and 11cm high and comes with some seriously impressive details under the hood.

Expect to find moving pistons for the faithfully recreated V8, working wishbone suspension, steering and a deploy-able wheelie bar. This will be alongside working doors, bonnet and boot which, when opened, reveals the cool detail of a bottle of NOS (nitrous oxide).

In the first Fast & Furious film, Vin Diesel's character was famously afraid to drive the Charger after the death of his father who had built the car with a young Dom.

According to the series' lore, the car is famed for its incredible power at 900 horsepower and holding a record 1/4 mile time at just nine seconds flat, set by Dom's father at the Los Angeles County Raceway.

Samuel Tacchi, who designed the set for LEGO Technic, said:

"We worked really closely with the Universal team to bring Dom's Dodge Charger to life in the most minute detail to inspire 'Fast & Furious' fans and Lego Technic builders around the world."

The set is open for pre-orders priced at £89.99 and ships from the 27th of April.

Let's be honest, there isn't a lot of sport on at the moment so this is probably worth a shot to kill some of the hours in between those Joe Wicks PE sessions?

With all that money you're not wasting on accumulators you can probably afford it at the moment too.
