Season two of 'Sunderland 'Til I Die' is now available to watch on Netflix

Sunderland v West Bromwich Albion - Premier League

The first series of 'Sunderland 'Til I Die' was a major success.

Released on 14 December, 2018, the series featured eight episodes and covered Sunderland's tumultuous 2017/18 campaign.

It gave a behind-the-scenes look on ongoings around the club, which culminated in them being relegated from the Championship.

If you enjoyed the series then you are in for a real treat as season two of Sunderland 'Til I Die has dropped today on Netflix.

And, this series may have even more drama than the first.

The second series will comprise of six episodes and follows the club's journey in League One during the 2018/19 campaign.

Sunderland were expected to bounce back from disappointment in the season prior and go straight back up to England's second tier.

It all started so well as they beat fellow promotion-chasers Charlton Athletic on the opening day.

But it wasn't all plain sailing.

They managed to make the final of the EFL Trophy, where they met Portsmouth at Wembley.

In what was a dramatic final, Aidan McGeady scored his second in the 119th minute to take the game to penalties.

But they would suffer heartbreak as they were beaten 5-4 on spot-kicks.

Sunderland faltered in the final months of the season and missed out on the automatic promotion spots.

They did manage to quality for the playoffs, though, and avenged their defeat against Portsmouth to make it a second Wembley appearance.

In the final against Charlton, The Black Cats got off to a great start after Naby Sarr's bizarre own-goal with just minutes played.

But Sunderland could not hold on.

In the 94th minute, Patrick Bauer found the net for the London side to break Sunderland's hearts at Wembley yet again.

It marked the end of what was another dramatic season and, thankfully, it has all been captured on the Sunderland 'Til I Die documentary.

Executive producer Ben Turner said, per the ChronicleLive: "For years we’ve held our arms aloft at Sunderland AFC games and sang ‘we’re by far the greatest team the world has ever seen’.

"Series two confirms that whilst this may not be entirely true on the pitch, Sunderland AFC are in a league of their own as a subject for a documentary series.

"The focus this year is the unfolding drama of the new owners trying to meet the immense challenge they set themselves by buying the football club. The access they gave us provides the audience a front row seat for what is one hell of a ride.

"Sunderland AFC remains the gift that keeps on giving and we couldn’t be more excited for fans of the first series to get to spend another six episodes with their favourite characters and the City of Sunderland.

"This remains a show that is deeply personal to all of us at Fulwell and we hope that viewers enjoy watching it as much as we feel privileged to have had the opportunity to make it.”

Get your popcorn ready. Series two of Sunderland 'Til I Die is bound to be box-office.
