Paul Pogba and Robin van Persie have given Manchester United fans endless entertainment over the last 10 years.

Sure, Pogba might have attracted as many negative headlines as he's produced stunning moments, but there's no denying that he's one of the Premier League's most box-office players on his day.

The Frenchman is one of the most talented midfielders in the world with his superglue touch, eye for a Steven Gerrard-esque diagonal pass and his grossly underrated dribbling.

As for Van Persie, the ex-Arsenal player will go down in the history books for winning the Premier League Golden Boot to inspire United to the league title in Sir Alex Ferguson's final season.

His following two campaigns at Old Trafford might have flattered to deceive, but the Dutchman was only ever a few games away from scoring a screamer even when his form fluctuated.

Van Persie and Pogba

And with Van Persie leaving for Fenerbache in 2015 and Pogba not returning to the club until 2016, the Red Devils narrowly missed out on what could have been a stunning combination.

Just imagine Pogba firing a world-class diagonal ball to Van Persie, peeling away from the defence to lash home a volley a la his iconic strike against Aston Villa.

It's one of those dynamic duos that United fans would have loved to see in their primes, but unfortunately those thoughts will have to remain, well, just thoughts. Or so you'd think.

Pogba and RVP playing together?

That's because Twitter user @ShameIessFC might have changed the game when it comes to football compilations on social media, creating a superb mashup of Van Persie and Pogba.

The supporter's caption read: "A new comp concept... Visualising what life would’ve been like if Paul Pogba and Robin Van Persie played together."

It's a concept that had the potential to be incredibly naff, but what they've created is a stunning edit with seamless transitions between Pogba passes and Van Persie finishes.

So, set aside two minutes of your day, and check out the superb compilation down below:

Oh baby, just imagine if some of those goals genuinely happened.

Van Persie absolutely thrived off long balls over the top - something that Pogba has become an expert in - and would have thrashed home countless volleys with the Frenchman behind him.

Pogba has been blessed with some superb strikers to supply ammunition for at United, but we're not sure any of them could a handle to the prime Van Persie that was unstoppable in England.

That's right, we doubt even Zlatan Ibrahimovic could have buried some of the deadly passes from Pogba in quite the way that Van Persie would have done.

Sadly, though, their generations marginally missed each other at the 'Theatre of the Dreams', meaning this video - of which he hope they'll be more - is what United will have to settle for.
