WWE are pushing on with WrestleMania 36 despite the coronavirus outbreak that has wiped out sporting events across the world.

The Showcase of the Immortals will air this weekend - on both Saturday and Sunday - from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

Using the empty facility to shoot SmackDown, RAW and WrestleMania has been a useful workaround for WWE, but they may not be able to do it any longer.

On Wednesday, Florida governor Ron DeSantis issued a statewide lockdown, likely meaning only essential workers will be allowed to go to work.

The stay-at-home order comes into effect at midnight on Thursday and will last for at least 30 days.

It means WWE could be forced to cease shooting at the Performance Center and take a break after WrestleMania.

Reports suggest the company were keen to carry on regardless after the biggest show of the year, but that seems highly unlikely now.

The WrestleVotes Twitter account reacted to the news, saying:

"Rumors around the PC last week were that if the state of FL issued a Stay Home order, which happened today, WWE would reconsider taking a break post Mania."

WrestlingSheet editor Ryan Satin also discussed the situation on social media, writing:

"It wouldn’t surprise me to see WWE move things to Connecticut as opposed to going on a break if they eventually can’t film at the PC for a period of time."

Per WrestleVotes, the RAW after WrestleMania have already been shot, but if WWE are forced to take a break amid this lockdown, some of that footage will not be aired.

Everything is obviously up in the air at the moment but Florida's stay-at-home order could well be the final nail in the coffin that forces WWE to take a break amid the coronavirus pandemic.
