Brazil have possessed some of the finest strikers in world football over the past 30 years.

Ronaldo Nazario, Adriano, Romario, Luis Fabiano and more have dazzled us football lovers down the years with their goals and flair.

Even in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich's Brazilian legend Giovane Elber was a hit across the globe and he would have been a very suitable candidate for this week's edition of 'Cult Heroes'.

But the prolific striker, who scored 133 goals in 260 games for Bayern, was more a figure of consistency.

Instead, we're a sucker for those flash in the pans, those shortened periods of greatness and there is only one Bundesliga Brazilian who fits that profile: Grafite.

The Sao Paolo-born striker delivered one of the greatest individual campaigns in the history of Europe's top five leagues during the 2008/09 season.

Grafite scored 28 league goals - 35 in all competitions - as Wolfsburg claimed their first and only ever Bundesliga title.

His telepathy with strike partner Edin Dzeko - who notched 36 goals that campaign - was simply remarkable.

Grafite chipped in with 10 assists as well that campaign. To put it simply, it's one of the best strike partnerships European football has ever seen.

But instead of mundanely talking you through that Bundesliga season, we are instead focusing on one singular moment from a match that is forever etched into German footballing history.

Bayern Munich are a team that are occasionally beaten, but rarely ever humiliated on domestic soil.

On April 4, 2009, Wolfsburg thrashed Die Roten 5-1, with Grafite and Dzeko scoring a brace apiece.

It was the pivotal game in the title race and it was Grafite who inflicted the bitter blow of humiliation upon Germany's most successful club.

Instead of settling for mediocre, run-of-the-mill goals, the Brazilian decided to pull off one of the greatest solo strikes ever seen. You can watch the action unfold below.

It all starts with Grafite picking up the ball on the left and charging at the Bayern defence like a bull hunting down a matador.

He nonchalantly skips between two and then manages to avoid the desperate grasp of the goalkeeper.

But with his body facing back towards his own goal and four Bayern players in between the Brazilian and the net, surely the chance was gone, right?

Absolutely not. Imagine having the audacity to attempt a back-heel and then pull it off with such accuracy that it rolls into the bottom corner?!

If that was attempted during a Sunday League match, a face full of dirt and chuckling supporters would have been the only outcome.

It's a goal worthy of it's own film, not just a heartfelt love letter from us here at GIVEMESPORT.

The precision of every movement and touch, it's just glorious to behold. The fact it also came against Bayern Munich is the icing on top of the sauciest cake available.

So the next time you're down the pub with your mates - which sadly could be months from now - and the topic of greatest ever solo goals comes up, don't be a sheep and bring up Diego Maradona or Lionel Messi.

Instead, wax lyrical about the great man that is Grafite, a true cult hero!
