Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer will be free-to-play all weekend

NRG Gaming Presents: The Chicago Huntsmen NBA All Star Homecoming Event For Call Of Duty League

Stuck for plans for things to do this weekend?

Most of us will be after being in lockdown in the UK for the last few weeks but do not fear, our friends over at Activision have come to the rescue.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer will be free to play all weekend, starting tonight at 6 pm and ending on Monday, April 6th at 6 pm, ending boredom in an instant.

Modern Warfare is accessible via COD spinoff Warzone all weekend, which itself is free to download and play so absolutely no excuses for boredom if you are a fan of FPS video games!

One thing to consider however although it is free to download, Warzone is a rather large download so the recommendation would be to get it downloaded and installed sooner rather than later to avoid missing out on any free gameplay.

Warzone is the newest release from Infinity Ward and has been incredibly successful amongst COD fans, who are always keen to get their hands on the latest COD releases.

Whilst Warzone is a Call Of Duty game, it takes a lot of inspiration from the also free to download Fortnite with its battle royale theme.

Once Warzone is downloaded you will be able to start your weekend of free gaming via its lobby in the form of the “Stocked Up/Locked Down” 24/7 playlist.

This will give players access to classics of COD including old favourites like Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint and Headquarters as well as the Atlas Superstore and Shoot House maps.

Activision themselves have been heavily promoting Modern Warfare in their online blogs explaining there is no time to waste downloading this and experiencing Modern Warfare.

“Now’s your chance to get to know Modern Warfare Multiplayer combat in two concentrated, visually stunning settings,” Activision describes.

“You’ll be able to experience 6v6 and 10v10 gameplay with Modern Warfare and free-to-play Warzone players alike. And, you’ll get a deeper knowledge of the weapons and equipment you’ve encountered in Warzone.”

“There's no time to waste: Experience Modern Warfare multiplayer starting on April 3 at 10 am PDT only live until 10 am PT on April 6. I

n this genre-defining take on Multiplayer, you’re sure to experience fast-paced fight where combat is contrast and there’s a skirmish at every turn. So grab your friends, hit the lobby, and get your dukes up!”

So when you’re stuck for things to do this weekend, fire up your games console and download Warzone and unlock free access to the world of online Modern Warfare gaming, and keep yourself entertaining - until Monday at least.
