Cristiano Ronaldo's achievements at Real Madrid will be spoken about for centuries.

When Los Blancos forked out £80 million for his services in 2009, they never could have predicted that he would wave goodbye to them nine years later as arguably their greatest ever player.

Alfredo Di Stéfano is perhaps the only club legend who can feasibly rival Ronaldo to that claim, which is saying something considering Real were voted the FIFA Club of the Century.

But at the end of the day, the statistics speak for themselves and the fact Ronaldo was able to score 450 times in the famous white jersey despite playing just 438 games is nothing short of staggering.

As a result, picking out Ronaldo's best season from what was essentially a decade-long purple patch is like discriminating between Oscar winners or Olympic gold medallists.

Ronaldo's stunning 2011/12

However, if we were to separate the truly extraterrestrial campaigns from the 'just' insane ones, then the 2011/12 season would be right at the front of the queue.

We've spoken a lot recently about the brilliance of Jose Mourinho's Real in that season and how their 100-point triumph in La Liga, in which they scored 112 goals, has been so badly underrated.

And there's no denying that Ronaldo played a massive role in that success, strutting around the pitches of Spain and Europe with his white and gold collar propped up Eric Cantona style.

Montage of Ronaldo's brilliance

Who can forget his thigh celebration after scoring from 30 yards against Osasuna or his 'calm down' gesture to the Camp Nou crowd after essentially ripping the title away from Barcelona?

We could go on for thousands upon thousands of words, but perhaps the best way of articulating Ronaldo's supremacy that season has come in the form of a 30-minute YouTube video.

Yes, that's right, content creator 'Legasus' has compiled an entire half-hour's worth of Ronaldo at his best and titled it: "Cristiano Ronaldo was the MOST COMPLETE PLAYER EVER in 2012!"

Don't believe them? Well, make up your own mind by indulging in the montage down below:

One of his greatest seasons

There aren't many better ways to spend 30 minutes in self-isolation, that's for sure.

You could certainly argue that Ronaldo's greatest ever seasons were actually 2013/14 and 2014/15, but what makes 2011/12 so gripping is that there are still signs and traits of his younger self.

Ronaldo became so, so efficient in his pomp that, yes, it increased his statistics and silverware, but it stripped away an element of entertainment and flair that had typified his early career.

2011/12 Ronaldo was still dazzling defenders with step-overs every two seconds, shooting from range more often and generally giving the thousands in attendance even more value for money.

If that sounds harsh, we don't mean it to be, we're speaking within the realms of Ronaldo's alien-like standards and this was still a season in which he scored 60 goals.

Not only does that make it the second most prolific campaign of his entire career, but one in which he was still showing the rugged flair that made him a superstar in the first place.
