Anthony Joshua believes Mike Tyson would beat Muhammad Ali if the pair met in the ring in their primes. The heavyweight boxing champ revealed his opinion on a JD Sports Instagram Live on Friday afternoon.AJ ultimately backed ‘Iron’ Mike to beat Ali in a hypothetical fantasy fight. He thinks that Tyson’s emulation of Joe Frazier’s style would cause problems for Ali, who was knocked down by Frazier when the pair fought.Joshua also said that Tyson benefited from better schooling and information from coaches than his predecessor Ali, who fought years earlier.Tyson and Ali are widely regarded as two of the best boxers of all time, not just in the heavyweight division but in the sport’s history.Tyson had a record of 50-6 (44 KOs) and beat fighters such as Frank Bruno and Larry Holmes during his hugely successful career. He is also the youngest heavyweight champion in history, winning the WBC belt aged just 20 in 1986.Ali had a record of 56-5 (37 KOs) and was a three-time world heavyweight champion. He beat George Foreman and Joe Frazier during his career and is actually one of Tyson’s biggest idols.Meanwhile, Joshua’s title defence against mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev has been postponed as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, according to promoter Eddie Hearn.

It is unclear when the bout will take place. It was scheduled for June 20 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Joshua’s WBA, IBF and WBO belts on the line.

If AJ overcomes the Bulgarian when the pair eventually fight, he could then face fellow British world champion, Tyson Fury. Fury won the WBC belt from Deontay Wilder back in February via TKO.
