The last two years of Jordan Brian Henderson's career have been quite something.

From a player often laughed at by rival fans and questioned by Liverpool supporters to one of the best midfielders and most inspirational captains on the planet, it's been quite a journey.

Henderson's sudden rise was kickstarted during England's successful World Cup campaign in 2018 and he continued his brilliant form into the 2018/19 season with Liverpool.

The Englishman was a rock in midfield, a key component in Jurgen Klopp's side that secured the club's sixth European Cup.

But in 2019/20, Henderson has taken his game to another level, to the point where he's one of the big favourites to scoop the PFA Player of the Year award.

With all those factors in mind, it'll come as no surprise to hear that Henderson is currently the best performing player in Europe's top five leagues during 2020.

Data collected by the CIES Football Observatory has put the Liverpool skipper at the top of the pile with a ranking of 92.0, with Virgil van Dijk the next Premier League player to feature on the list in 18th.

You can view the top 25 and their ratings below.

The Bundesliga is heavily represented with 14 players in total, with six of them playing for Bayern Munich.

In contrast, only five Premier League stars make the cut and it's no surprise to see four of them coming from Liverpool.

But the most surprising thing is the amount of big names missing out on the top 25.

Cristiano Ronaldo (27th), Kevin de Bruyne (29th), Lionel Messi (55th), Trent Alexander-Arnold (134th), Timo Werner (233rd) and other stars miss out entirely.

They've all been upstaged by Henderson in 2019/20!
