FIFA are set to confirm they will extend the 2019/20 season “indefinitely” due to the coronavirus crisis.The Athletic report the football governing body will allow each country’s football authority to determine when campaigns can finish.They will also alter the dates of the summer transfer window and allow contract extensions for players whose deals expire on June 30.The plans will be revealed in the next 48 hours with FIFA allowing maximum flexibility as they are aware the coronavirus situation in each country is very different.The Premier League has reiterated their desire to ensure the 2019/20 season is finished and this news will be music to their ears.It will certainly be a massive boost to Liverpool - who are on the brink of winning their first ever Premier League title.While the decision from the highest authority in football does not take null and void off the table, it “considerably reduces the chances of seasons being cancelled altogether.”Of course, extending the current campaign will have a knock-on effect for the football calendar for the foreseeable future.When will next season start again?
