There have been several alarming stories of footballers flouting social distancing protocol since the government placed the UK into lockdown. Jack Grealish was forced to apologise for visiting a friend's house and subsequently crashing his car, while Kyle Walker has been fined over two weeks' wages for organising a 'sex party' with escorts at his home. Premier League clubs do not expect their employees to be breaking these very important rules - least of all their own manager. That's the predicament Tottenham now find themselves in, however, after footage emerged of Jose Mourinho conducting a training session on Hadley Common in Barnet. Davinson Sanchez and Ryan Sessegnon were seen jogging side-by-side, while Tanguy Ndombele was also present. You can see footage and images of their running drills below:

Serge Aurier was seen in a separate video running alongside a friend, again failing to keep an appropriate distance apart.

None of them made any attempt to be discreet either, with Mourinho and the players donning their full Nike training gear.

The London Evening Standard's Dan Kilpatrick wrote on Twitter:

"Everyone involved has been reminded about social distancing guidelines. Safe to say club is [very] unimpressed."

The government has implored everyone to stay at home during the coronavirus pandemic, except for essential outings, and to stand two metres apart from others.

Outdoor exercise is only to be undertaken with a maximum of one other person from your household.

Tottenham have also come under fire for their handling of the current lockdown, Daniel Levy announcing that non-playing staff would be placed on the government's furlough scheme (meaning a 20% cut in real terms), rather than being paid their full wages by the eighth richest club in the world.

Liverpool initially took a similar approach but have since reversed their decision in response to a huge backlash.

Levy, meanwhile, is reported in the Telegraph to be planning a new role for groundsmen at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - working on his private estate.

The chairman hasn't exactly covered himself in glory in the last few days and now neither have Mourinho or the players in question.
