Conor McGregor's brash reputation is well-deserved.

The Irishman's trash-talking is second to none and he never really shut his mouth even during his hiatus from the Octagon.

Yet it's one of those strange quirks of UFC; one moment, two fighters can seem mortal enemies, the next they're full of respect for one another.

That's particularly true of McGregor, whose 'Notorious' brand is partly based on his outrageous behaviour and shock tactics in the build-up to his fights.

His numerous brushes outside of the sport have also added to that image, but it may not be wholly warranted.

To give McGregor his dues, he is always very respectful to his adversaries after his fights and BT Sport have released a compilation to that effect.

There are snippets of footage from his victories over Jose Aldo, Max Holloway and his most recent triumph in just 40 seconds over Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone.

McGregor is also shown to be gracious in defeat after losing to Nate Diaz in March 2016, admitting his decision to go up a weight backfired.

It only whets the appetite further to see him back in action, though it's still unclear as to when that will be, especially with the coronavirus crisis continuing to wreak havoc with the sporting calendar (though seemingly not in Dana White's world).

Rumours that McGregor could make a shock return to fill the main event card against Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 later this month have now been quashed at least, with Justin Gaethje stepping in for Khabib Nurmagomedov instead.
